Chances of Diversity: Youth Initiatives and Peacebuilding in Eastern Europe

 

 

In the context of globalization, societal changes and migration, our societies become more and more diverse. There are many factors for Diversity in society: ethnicity, language, religion, gender, culture or politics. Also in Central and Eastern Europe the topic of Diversity, caused by migration, becomes visible, and awareness, acceptance, tolerance and integration vary on a large scale.

For that reason, the Initiative Mittel- und Osteuropa e.V. has organized a 5-day Forum for young people from Ukraine, Belarus, Republic Moldova, Romania, Poland and Germany to come together and

Find out about your own perception and attitude towards diversity. Discuss about the topics of tolerance, discrimination and exclusion and work with the concept of diversity in societies as a way to prevent the spreading of right-wing ideas.

  • To explore Chances and Challenges of Diversity in a society and your countries
  • To reflect on Tolerance and Discrimination
  • To learn about Diversity as a source of conflict
  • To get to know tools and methods (Mediation, conflict resolution), you can use in future projects
  • Conflict prevention and dealing with post-conflict situations
  • To develop ideas and projects in the field of Diversity
  • To create a network of youth workers
